Wedding: Barbie and Ken

In my wedding-related internet travels, I was perusing the realms of the online bridal world (it's a glorious place) when a small picture caught my eye and I remember thinking "Geez. That bride has freakishly small arms - is that a photoshop mistake?!?" Then, in my haste to discover her stick-insect secrets, I clicked on the link and realised:

it was Barbie.

Genius.

Introducing, The Wedding of Barbie and Ken - as shot by Beatrice De Guigne

Photobucket
Ken had his plastic shoes shined specially for this magical day.

Photobucket Photobucket
"Barbie's a real babe, you're doing the right thing Ken"

Photobucket
"No guys, don't touch my shiny suit"

"Seriously guys, back up"
Photobucket
The groomsmen were on hand to make sure that Ken had enough gel in his hair.

Photobucket
Barbie's custom designed wedding dress was very skinny indeed.

Photobucket
Barbie made sure that her photographer got the compulsory shoe shot.
She was a very demanding bride.

Photobucket
"Oh Barbie, you're going to make the most beautiful bride!"
"I know"

Photobucket
Wait until Ken finds out that I'm double jointed.

Photobucket
"Barbie, I don't know why you made me put these purple things in my hair - I feel stupid"
"Shut up bitch, wash my hair"

Photobucket
"It's a good thing this dress was custom made 'cause if I were a real girl,
  I'd hardly be able to walk with my freakishly skinny proportions. lolz"

Photobucket
{Sometimes I get a so pissed that Barbie gets all the attention.
I wonder what she'd do if I set her dress on fire?}

Photobucket
"tee hee, I'm so demure"

Photobucket
"oh just LOOK how ridiculously good-looking I am, in this angelic light"

Photobucket
"Look at my blonde hair!! It's glowing bitches"

Photobucket
{Oh Ken, I can't wait to divorce you for all you're worth}

Photobucket
{I hope I have enough gel in my hair}

Photobucket Photobucket
"Take my hand Ken"

Photobucket
{I hope my hair is shining more than Barbie's}

Photobucket
{yep. it is.}

Photobucket
{I hope everyone is looking at my small arms}

Photobucket Photobucket
{Look how shiny Ken's hair is. I need to get some of that.}

Photobucket Photobucket
{I don't know where that bitch with the hair came from - but I'm gonna end her at the reception}

Photobucket
"Plastic fruit and empty glasses help me to maintain my skinny arms"

Photobucket Photobucket
{Let me feel your hair, do you also use gel?}

Photobucket

I had great fun captioning these pics - no intention of discrediting the work of the photographer -
I think it's freaking genius. You can read about her explanation of the shoot here

Memory Games.

I arrived back in South Africa last week (from London) - Warren was off on some manly-fishing trip and headed back to London last night - I will be in South Africa for a while getting the wedding planning all sorted while Warr mans the fort in the UK. (sob).

Anyway, last weekend, we spent with The Warr's sister and brother-in-law up in Joburg and their two (v. cute) little kids:

(the following is a true story. heaven help us all)
Photobucket
When a cute six year old asks to play a game with you - you don't say no.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
The Memory Game. You've all played it.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
When a junior picks a card - there is much "YAYing" and "OOHing!" and high-fiving.
You know the deal.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
haha Warren. ha. ha.

Che's turn!!

"mmm... i just saw that sneaky pair! I've definitely got this one!
I'll pick.... YOU......
Photobucket Photobucket
?!!
Photobucket Photobucket
Like, I wasn't meant to pick that card up again for the fourth time in a row.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Sometimes, when you play children, you play to lose.
(You know... confidence boosting and all.)
Not me, not this time.

i play to win.

Photobucket Photobucket
but really.
I really was.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
lemon. banana. so tricksy.
Photobucket
so where exactly is that other lemon?
Photobucket Photobucket
perfect. so if that's the lemon, there where is that banana?

When you cheat in a memory game to beat a six year old, you know you are not ready to have children.

 - the end.
