Well Hello from Mrs Dyer!
We got back from the most divine honeymoon last Sunday (more on that to follow), but for now you can just take it as, WOW! Warren totally outplayed himself - I don't know how he's going to top that for our first anniversary. haha ;) Everything in the last four weeks has been completely indescribably incredible and I have been avoiding getting back into the blog for a number of reasons - so stand by for list of excuses:
- I have no more adjectives.
I have literally run out of adjectives. I have had to think long and hard about this blog post because there is no possible way that I can describe in any adequate means the amount of absolute love, joy, appreciation and sheer and extreme happiness that I have felt in the last few weeks. When you run out of adjectives, I guess you fall back on common clichés and I will tell you that our wedding was absolutely the BEST. DAY. of. my LIFE up to this point. Never before have I been surrounded and overwhelmed with such love, positive energy, good people, amazing family, incredible friends, such a vibrant, fun and exultant atmosphere and the most gorgeous weather to cherry-on-the-top it all. As if all of that is not enough to make me beam like a princess-sun-goddess and lose all my words in the wonderment of it all, I get to marry the man of my absolute real-life-dreams.No. There are no words.
- Visa admin of death.
I am currently in the process of applying for my UK Spousal Visa and it has been a complete and utter nightmare - which has kept me very busy and off the blog in the last little while. I was supposed to be leaving South Africa to join my handsome-husband in London this weekend, but due to the VISA ADMIN OF DEATH (which is a whole new long {and infuriating} blog post), I will be sticking around South Africa until probably next weekend, while we make sure all the documents are in order.
it's not ideal.
Husband is missing me terribly. How do I know this? Because I can hear his man-tears from across the ocean. (just kidding, he told me). - I'm a gal of no "half-measures"
I knew that once I sat down at my computer and started to think about the blog posts I wanted to write, that I would literally be sitting here for days, sifting through photos, editing pictures, thinking about the words I want to use, planning posts, preparing cartoons and and and...
I don't generally do things half-heartedly. If I'm your mate, I'm your MATE. If you make me laugh, I will laugh probably until snot-juice comes out my face. If I love you, (yes that's you warren), I will love you with everything I have and everything I am. Blogging is the same for me. I don't just sit down whack up a pic and smack some sentences onto it - my posts are planned, they are prepared, they are done properly and with thought. I needed some time to sort out the last few bits of wedmin (thank you lists, present lists, visa stuffs, replying to messages/mails etc) before I could properly sit down and do a blog post. (And yes I still have a whole list of remaining wedmin to get through but it's way more manageable now). - Too much AWESOMENESS to share
Our wedding was freaken awesome. Yes, I'm telling you that because I was the bride. And Warren will tell you that because he was the groom (and because he has to listen to the wife), but I can guarantee that if you ask anyone who came to celebrate with us - they will tell you the same thing. I have SO much awesomeness to share on indieBerries from the last few weeks and I have honestly been struggling as to how to break it all up. Should I just whack up a bunch of pics that speak for themselves? Should I break it down into each awesome element? Should I start with blogging the beautiful kitchen-tea and HIGH-FIVINGly-amazeballs bachelorette? Or do I post the dreamy-honeymoon pics and work back from there? It's a problem of real importance - like gun law legislation and religious bombings.
* I have SO much awesomeness to share. You will be sick of hearing about our wedding - I promise. In which case, (ie: you can't handle all the awesome) you'd better take a look at my blog love list to find some other cool blogs to read while I satiate my need to POST. ALL. THE. THINGS. - Pictures, Pictures EVERYWHERE!
There are so many cool pictures floating around from our big day and the celebrations and all and all. Pictures snapped from friends on Facebook, pics on Instagram, on Twitter, pics from my aunts and uncles and cousins on flashsticks, pics from family friends on CDs, pics via whatsapp, pics still to be developed, pics from my sister-in-law via email (see how I threw that 'sister-in-law' in there? yeah, totally married). It has taken a while to consolidate all of these pics (and I'm no-where near done) and choose my favourites (they are ALL my favourites). I figured though, that if I wait until I have sorted through all of them, until I do my first blog-post - Warren and I will be on our third child by then and you will definitely have lost interest.
You will probably see the same pics posted a few times while I try and sort them all out. That's too bad. (See note above *)
So, anyway after all those excuses I would now love to share with you the first set of some of my favourite (non-professional) wedding photographs -
Remember how I ran out of adjectives?
These pictures:
They don't need adjectives.
The next pic is one of my absolute favourites (thanks Se!) I don't know why I love it so much, but i really do -
In fact, I could totally write a thesis on this picture - "...as she leans on the love, support and friendship of her maid of honour now and over all these past years, she gazes towards her dashing new husband as he looks up adoringly at her, as they begin their new life together..."
Too far?
Yeah, Too far.
And this picture -
I know.
Kez, you did well gurrrrl
You. did. well.
You. did. well.
Stay tuned for (many) more pics, stories, memories, moments and amazingness of our indescribable day! THANK YOU to all the people who came to celebrate, who helped out, who traveled far, who have laughed, loved and lived with us over the past few years - our wedding day was phenomenal, thanks to all of you!
