But WHAT did I get for the Husband?!

If you read my blogpost on the 25th - you will know that I was busy celebrating My Favourite Human's birthday. I woke The Warr up early with some presents and a birthday "cake" (which you can see in the previous blog post.

Throughout the day, I sent him different pictures on the hour (you can go back and have a re-cap of what they were here). Right before I met him for a delicious sushi dinner - I sent him the last pic, which I think is what gave the whole thing away -

 photo photo1_zps6fca33bb.jpg
Can you guess?

Yes.
It's the zoomed-up roof of an Audi Car.

And no, I did not give him a car for his birthday - (who do you think I am, Rockefeller?!). But maybe knowing that clue - you can figure out some of the rest?

 photo photo1_zps746d1cb6.jpg

easy huh?

Over dinner, I made him go back and guess what each of the pictures were - and presented the entire picture from "MY SECRET ENVELOPE OF PRINT OUTS" when he guessed them correctly - and he got most of them spot on! Knowing that each of them are "car-related" maybe you'd like another shot at guessing the pictures? The yellow ones all go together and I've put the answers below each picture - so scroll slowly if you want to try guess them before you see the answers!

 photo warrbday2_zpscc08fb1a.jpg

ANSWERS Left to Right: 1. This was the hardest picture. It is the very zoomed up tip of the door of this Lamborghini picture (it opens into the sky, remember - James Bond Style). 2. This is the beginning of the word Ferrari in the Ferrari Logo. 3. The underneath of the Lamborghini. 4. The curve of the Ferrari shield.

 photo Warrbday1_zps4a7b26d7.jpg

Left to Right: 1. Blue sky, with a grand prix flag. (this was also a difficult one). 2. The Aston Martin Logo. 3. A close up of the curve of a race track - road and curb. 4. The top of the Ferrari Logo Shield.

And of course -
My EPIC car birthday cake which (unknowingly) tied the whole thing together!

For the husband's birthday present, I have bought him a Super Car Racing Drive Experience. For one afternoon - he will be able to choose three cars of his choice (including Lamborghini's Ferrari's, Aston Martins, Bentley's and Audi R8s) and race them around a track, while I watch from the side, meditating to calm my shattered nerves. I can hardly wait. And, so it seems - neither can The Warr. Since the tracks are all a little way out of London - I think we might find a cool place to nest for the night and make a weekend trip out of it. Good. I'll need some way to unwind after all the race stress.

 photo birthdayboxingday_zps639ce005.jpg
After a delicious sushi dinner (and a bunch of picture revealing), we had a slow stroll back home and finished off the evening with red wine, cupcakes and BINGO cards.

Because what else are birthday's for?

BIRTHDAY BOI.

This post is a rather late post in the day - because I have been so busy with other stuff - guestbook orders, poster inquiries, The Photo Hunt Prep, website content, Etsy orders etc! But I needed to get this post out today because TODAY we celebrate the birth of my absolute favourite human.

(Above right: My favourite human as a young fry - high school days I think?)
 photo WarrenChe_320_zps2ffe1c0b.jpg
Above: My favourite human on the day he married ME.
HOW hot is he?!?! (If you don't know which one he is, look for the hot one)

So, My family have a "thing" about waking up early on birthdays. In fact, last night before we went to sleep, I asked what time The Warr was setting his alarm for -

Warr: 6:20am... but I don't know why I'm even bothering to put my alarm on, because I know your family is going to call me at like 4am.
Me: Yep.
(They did)

So anyway, I woke up all spritely for the man's birthday and presented him with some coffee and "cake" and presents: photo wakeup_zpsfb0276f7.jpg
( I will post more about the gift-wrap soon - I haven't done a gift wrap post in ages!)

Throughout the day today (on every hour), I have been sending THE BIRTHDAY BOY some pictures:

and then, one hour later, this one:

Is it the new designs for our tattoos?
Who knows?!
NOT ME!

Then, one hour later, THIS ONE:

SIDE NOTE: When you are questioned me about the pictures that your husband is receiving on his phone - you must play innocent:

So that's where we are at right now.
I have sent some pics every hour up until now
(with another one due in ten minutes)

(I am actually a really obnoxious person to be married to. lol)

Can you see where I am going with this?
If you can, DO NOT leave a comment giving it away -
because I WILL CUT YOU.

I wanted to close the comments completely,
but then decided that anyone who reads this post and does not comment
to wish my favourite HUMAN a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" -

I WILL CUT YOU.

Either way, someone's getting CUT.

OH by the way!!

Did you see the "birthday cake" I made for The Warr!?

(side note: am clearly TOTES ready for children)

I am taking The Birthday Boy out for dinner tonight...
to reveal my "things"

Get yo chakra on.

I have been putting off this post for a while now.

because -

Some posts are just harder to put into words than others,
ya know?

I kind of wish I could rather sit here and talk to you all about my recent experience regarding this - so that you could FULLY understand the complete AMAZEMENT/ EXCITEMENT/ EMOTION that went down. But anyway, since that's not possible (besides me talking to my camera and posting it to YouTube) I'll just try my best to get it all out.

 photo chakra1_zpsc1fad441.jpg
Let me begin by saying that lately, I feel I've been opened up to an entire new world of shizz. {I have downloaded the Headspace App (that's a whole different blog post!) and I've been completely inspired with all the yogis that I follow on Instagram (see this post) - so much so that I have attempted some yogi headstands of my own. I am keen to visit Keri's Reiki Healer when I'm back home and I have even signed up for this Colour Festival in June.} To sum up, there is some kind of shift going on in my mind and soul... and it's epic.

So when Lulu mentioned that she had some Chakra Necklaces

I was ALL. IN.

In basic terms (and as much as I am still learning) there are 7 different chakras  - or "energy zones" in your body which relate to different physical organs and emotional issues that we may (or may not) be carrying. When there are blockages in any of these zones of energy we may experience physical or emotional/mental imbalances.

Lulu invited me over and laid out her seven chakra necklaces in front of me and asked me to choose one based PURELY ON THE SYMBOL that I was most drawn to. (Bearing in mind I had never seen these symbols before). After much deliberation I eventually went for the fifth chakra. At this point, I found out it was the throat chakra, but still didn't have much idea about what it specifically relates to.
 photo chakra2_zps7d8a9b88.jpg
As you may know, I LOVE me a good personality test and "learning about myself". So, as soon as I left Lulu's house - I rushed home and tried to read up about the chakras online. I found a chakra personality test and without knowing anything about it - answered the completely random 40+ questions. I then did another chakra test (and another). Every time I did a test - it gave me exactly the same chakra that I had chosen based purely on the symbol that I was most drawn to.

As you can imagine -

I was SPEECHLESS.

 photo chakra3_zpsefc1274e.jpg

mouth-opened-jaw-dropping-speechless.

It's like something in me was drawn to the exact symbol-chakra that is the perfect balance for my personality. At this point, I was SO intrigued / excited / amazed by this "coincidence" that I went and researched further: imbalances in the throat chakra can cause teeth problems, (HELLO DENTIST), mouth ulcers and sore throats. (note: at the very time of choosing this chakra I had been sick with a sore throat and stuffy nose for about a week).  I won't go into all the long of it - but the more I read about this chakra and it's emotional/physical imbalances the more I cannot believe how completely apt it is to me and the things I need to work on in my life.

Furthermore - the element of the fifth chakra is sound - which also re-confirms (and enlightens me) as to a lot of other things in my life. (For example, my primary love language is Words of affirmation - ie: HEARING people appreciate me). Actually, for a long time - that I've never really understood until now - whenever I hear Warren use my name out loud in a sentence - I've always had a quiet chuckle to myself. Why?  As I now realise - is because it SOUNDS so good to me - it resonates well with something within me. Sometimes even, just hearing a song can make me so emotional I burst into tears.

I got so excited about all of this that within 7 minutes I had messaged my mother, my father and half my friends with pictures of the chakras asking them to choose. I ordered one of the necklaces from Lulu and sent them to a friend back in South Africa. They all picked the ones that were so apt to their personalities and physical imbalances. Of course, I made Warren choose his chakra and subsequently overloaded him with a bajillion chakra personality tests. You're welcome, honey.

I have been wearing my chakra necklace ever since I got it and I love it. There is something about having it on me it that reminds me to be more aware of how I choose to respond to different situations in my life. I'm so excited to read up more about it all and learn more.

At the end of this mish-mash post - I feel I haven't really effectively explained the ENTIRENESS of how awesome and far-reaching this experience has been for me -

but yep.
that's the gist of it.

And it's already gotten so long and wordy... but ya know -
my chakra necklace is aimed to balance me with more communication ...

So maybe it's working.

Stay tuned.

PS. If you'd like to order a chakra necklace and choose the one that you are most drawn to (and I would totes recommend it!) - hop over to Lulu's blog.

Friday Fun

I started this blog post with no clear direction.

Can you tell already?

 photo mewarr1_zps01d4c39d.jpg
(This picture was taken at a bus stop a few weeks ago - waiting outside in the cold. My physio-friend, Lulu told me that if you are desperate to wee, then you need to push on the soft area above your lip and curl your toes and it will help relieve the pressure on your bladder. My hands were too cold to take out my pockets - so the man stepped up to the plate. What a guy.)

Friday is "usually" the day for FUN FACT FRIDAY - but to be honest, I'm getting a little bored of it now. In fact, I get bored of things pretty quickly - It's a miracle I've managed to stay married SO long (10 months).

So anyway - since I am getting a little bored of FUN FACTS - maybe you are too?! (thoughts?!) Can you believe that I started that series 7 months ago?! That's almost as long as I've been married. Sheesh. Time flies. Maybe I will have to find another series that I'm inspired by again. Maybe FRIDAY FUN! Who knows. Not me. So in lieu of fun facts, I thought I would just tell you some random shizz:

The Husband is away in South Africa at the moment for a wedding - he flew on Wednesday evening. I have predicted various things happening during the time that he is away -
  • My sleeping patterns will drastically change. I am a total night owl - but force myself to "try" go to bed when The Warr does. Last night, I went to bed at 1am...and nearly got back out of bed to go do more "stuff". Oh, it's going to be a slippery slope til Monday. In fact, between now and Monday will probably only be one sleep.
  • I will not wash any dishes. OR - more realistically, I will not make anything that requires dishes being washed. Food consumed in this period will likely be: boiled eggs, half a red pepper, spoonfuls of avocado and cereal straight out the box. Actually, that is exactly what I ate yesterday.
  • I will attempt all sorts of "things". I have in my mind, an idea to MAKE THINGS WITH FEATHERS. I have no idea what these "things" are. But I just know I want to MAKE SOMETHING. and I want FEATHERS to be involved. More likely, I just want an excuse to visit Hobbycraft again.
  • I have booked a yoga workshop on Saturday at the Bikram centre in Wimbledon. Also, if you didn't see my instagram feed - I've been doing some "home-yoga" headstands an all yo. - and I'm keen to have another session tonight! (I've been following videos off this website)
I'M BREAKING UP THIS LOVELY LIST WITH
A PICTURE OF HUSBAND AND HIS BEARD:
 photo warrme2_zpsc67faaf9.jpg
I was trying to take a picture of The Mancakes while he still had his beard,

Me: Ok, now laugh like I've said the FUNNIEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD. PEOPLE MUST KNOW HOW HILARIOUS I AM.

He takes direction well - we should probably be in Hollywood.

I forgot where I was going with this.

Hmm.
Am obviously losing my mind without him here.

I have a lot to do today - tons of emails and guestbook enquiries and website stuff and Etsy orders. So I'm going to sign off... but I will leave you with this NUMBER ONE TIP!! (VERY NB): Always, ALWAYS start your blog posts with a clear direction, or you will end up nowhere in a pile of beard. HA HA HA HA HA.

* * * * * *

PS - If you are still desperate for FUN FACTS - you can read a whole bunch here!
Also - I have loved all the banter that went on the indieBerries Facebook Page about the curling cartoon I did! Loads of people sent me the David Attenborough Curling narration - if you haven't seen it, do yourselves a favour and WATCH IT.

Happy Friday!

Cartoon: CURLING. WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON?!

You guys.

I want to talk about CURLING.

With the Winter Olympics being on and all - husband and I have been watching a bit of the sports on TV and we have come across the phenomenon that is CURLING. Curling. You guys. What KIND of a sport is curling? There is something so car-crashingly absorbing about watching people do absolutely nothing on a piece of ice with two broomsticks. I can't even.

In fact, I replied to a comment about it on Facebook and someone's friend-of-a-friend responded with
"It's like watching an elite lawn mowing competition, yeah nothing happens, but they are the best in the world at making nothing happen in this particular fashion and that's kind of intriguing."
WORD.

So anyway, I thought I would enlighten you with some of my curling tidbits - beginning with a few WAY more exciting things to do than watching Olympic Curling (women's semi-finals today at 5am BTW)

A LIST OF THINGS WAY MORE EXCITING THAN WATCHING CURLING

 photo curling1_zpsfc525f72.jpg photo curling2_zpsd75bcaa5.jpg photo curling3_zpsd06742e3.jpg   photo curling4_zps017092be.jpg
Actually, watching your grandmother do ANYTHING.

 photo curling6_zps586c6730.jpg photo curling5_zps363b30ca.jpg photo curling8_zps818bd65f.jpg photo curling10_zps0274f9de.jpg photo curling9_zpsaa571b3e.jpg photo curling7_zpsdb155f6c.jpg
In an attempt to enlighten myself as to the secret wonders of CURLING, I decided to do some research - which I will share with you today. I have found that CURLING is in fact a result of very clever marketing. You see, it is common practice among CURLING MARKETERS to create CURLING images with VERY BLURRY backgrounds - to make you believe that CURLING is some kind of high-speed adrenalin race:

 photo curlinghighspeed_zps102cb14c.jpg

it is not.

Secondly, I have discovered, that in order to be a CURLER (CURLEE? CURLETE?) of OLYMPIC STANDARDS - you must adopt the OPEN MOUTH FACE. Which helps to avert attention away from the actual sport itself -

 photo curlingintense_zpse711c9bf.jpg

BEHOLD: THE OPEN MOUTH FACE.

 photo curingopen_zps479d911b.jpg
There were way more pictures I could have included, but I think I've made my point.

These two?
 photo training_zps1af62dfb.jpg
They are still in training.

So anyway - husband and I were watching CURLING on TV last Sunday -

 photo curling11_zps2cec67d9.jpg photo curling12_zps0ccbba78.jpg photo curling13_zps55d6b845.jpg photo curling14_zps2e4c8d52.jpg photo curling15_zpsfb68733c.jpg photo curling12_zps0ccbba78.jpg photo curling15_zpsfb68733c.jpg photo curling15a_zps915a622d.jpg photo curling15b_zpsa03eb686.jpg
 photo curling15_zpsfb68733c.jpg photo curling16_zps4536469e.jpg photo curling17_zps9b57406b.jpg photo curling18_zpsbfad3eec.jpg
 photo curling15_zpsfb68733c.jpg photo curling19_zps02cb6c78.jpg

AND THAT, my friends, is the secret of CURLING.
and now, i'm off to switch on the semi-finals.
