Be fabulous!
A quick card i made for my friend Modie - just to tell her that i think she's fabulous.
Tell someone they are fabulous.
Courage...
I found this in a quiet little cafe in Seoul. It made me laugh.
"Courage... is two candy bars and saving one for tomorrow."

I made a 2010 Calendar for my friend Kerry - as a gift to her Grandparents on their wedding anniversary. I asked her for photographs of all the grandchildren and the grandparents and also important birthday dates. Then I printed it and bound it together with a ribbon. She loved it.
Make a date in your calendar and reserve yourself some "me-time".

Wedding Fever
I've been helping a few friends make wedding invitations and getting things organised for their weddings - that I've developed a case of wedding fever! One of my friends has been feeling a bit stressed lately because of all the wedding planning - so I decided to make her a little 'pamper-kit' for her to de-stress including some foot-scrub, nail-file, nail polish and some ice-cream earrings. (Had to get the sugarless ice-cream version! 100 day wedding detox!) I also had a picture of her and her fiance for her to remember the real reason for the big wedding day!
Make a 'pamper yourself' kit for someone who needs it. Or just because...

Travel Journal
A few more pages from the 'Italy Travel Journal' that I am making for my friend Kelly. Here are some Italian food pages including a pseudo-menu for her to scribble down her favourite Italian edibles.
Write down a delicious menu. Make it fancy. Cook up a storm...

A travel journal
My friend Kelly is traveling to Italy for a week (jealous!) - so I've started making her a travel journal for her to document her trip through sidewalk cafes, shopping malls, museums and delicious Italian menus. This is page one. More to follow...

Lomography Loving
I love the style of lomography photographs. They're vintage, unpredictable and dreamy. There's plenty of room for creativity by double (or triple) exposing pictures, using gel filters, warped lenses and varying shutter speeds.
These were taken using a Diana F+ camera. Check out the online lomography store or visit my "lomo-home" to see more of my pictures.

I've been really into headbands lately. I love the vintage style of them. I especially love the leopard print one! (Images found via We heart it)

a Journal spot
I found a perfect journal spot this weekend - the big dam near our house in South Africa. I took my journal and some art supplies and settled down near the dam to do a bit of doodling. Nothing like fresh air, green trees, fresh grass and calm water to gather inspiration...
Find a lovely journal spot filled with fresh air, green trees, good sounds and be inspired...

Wild Africa
I surprised my family and went home for my brother's 21st Birthday. The day after his party we took a family trip to Nambiti Game Reserve and stayed at Lions Valley Lodge.
It was absolutely beautiful. We saw so many wild animals - lion, cheetah, giraffe, rhino, elephant, serval, zebra, warthog and plenty of antelope. It's good to be in the bush. I'm so happy to be South African!

Plan your dream vacation - even if it's only in your head. Set a date, have a goal and decide to travel to some place exotic. Beautiful Africa is waiting for you!

Making Stamps
Today we took a trip to the dam and I decided to try a stamp-making technique with my family.This is what you'll need:
* A marker
* A soft eraser
* A linoleum cutter
* Stamping Ink
* Paper
Start by drawing the picture or pattern you want onto the soft eraser with a marker. My cousin Ashlea decided to make a capital A.
Next, decide the parts of the stamp which you want to be negative and positive. (It makes it easier to colour in the parts of the stamp you want ink to fall on.)
Then take the linoleum cutters and scrape away the negative shapes around the stamp.
Once you have cleared away all excess eraser you can take the eraser stamp and dab it in some stamping ink.
Test out your new stamp on a clean piece of paper:
You can make any shapes you wish- my favourite so far is my little camera! Happy snapping :)
Make your own set of rubber stamps - it's easy, fast, fun and useful!
