Love is SHAZAM

I am an epic music ninja.

Shazam is one of my most FAVOURITE apps.

... and if you don't know what Shazam is....

I'm afraid we can't be friends.

Shazam - in a nutshell - picks up songs/music/sounds around you and tags them so that you can find out exactly what song is playing and who the artist is.

I use this app a LOT. In fact, it's the main reason why I don't have a passcode lock on my phone - because it would waste WAY too many precious seconds of potential music-ninja-ing. When I walk into a shop/ coffee place/ restaurant (etc) the "musical ambience" is the very first thing I notice and if it's an awesome song that I've never heard before, I get myself into such a flurry trying to shazam it before the song ends that I usually end up walking into mannequins and such. (true). I shazam shop music, coffee shop music, restaurant music, movie music, TV advert music, TV show music, elevator music. I shazam so much that I've even converted shazam to a verb.

So anyway, today I thought I would just share with you some of my recently "collected" shazam tags - I have just scrolled through my Shazam tags and created a Spotify playlist which you can play here. (I'm new to Spotify - so hopefully will have a few more playlists for you soon!)

Also - just wanted to add - that we had such a fabulous weekend! On friday - we watched Titanic with a good lashing of pizza and red wine (and when "the scene" came on - The Warr made me close my eyes and lifted up my arms and blew into my hair while Celine Dion belted out her shizz. It was like I was on the front line of the Titanic blazing into the sunset... #Magical). I did some yogi-moves in the ad breaks and husband snapped me. Saturday - I had an awesome "reunion" brunch with some Blogcademy babes - so fab to see them all again! Saturday eve - Warr and I went to Covent Garden for some cocktails, dinner and to watch Versaille at the Donmar Theatre. Sunday we had a yummy pub lunch and "design chat" with friends of ours who are getting married next year - and I'm creating their wedding stationery - FUN! And you guys - SO MUCH SUNSHINE! Summer is on it's way!!!

This was a rather "Dear Diary" type post for indieBerries - but I totes can't help it - we just had such a fab weekend! And.... HOW LONG IS MY HAIR?!!?

I recently attended a Networking event for South African Women in Business hosted by Darling Magazine in Wimbledon. At the event I met a host of really inspiring young (and medium-young) women who are small business owners in London. Among them, I met two sisters - Malory and Taylor Torr.

Maylor Torr is a singer-songwriter and her sister Taylor Torr is a photographer and film maker. After meeting them (and hearing Malory perform for us) I got back home after the event and searched for the music video straight away.

It's awesome and very FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!

Malory had her first big break on Radio 2 a little while - which is super awesome!

Mumford & Sons, Gentlemen of the Road.

On Saturday we hit up the Gentlemen of the Road, Summer Stampede Concert at the Queen Elizabeth park - Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, Ben Howard, Bears Den, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and HAIM. i know, can you even handle? The whole Olympic Park was created to resemble an old school fair ground with different rides, tombola stalls, food stands, photo booths etc. I loved all the signage - esp these "cheer people" (below) who had signs along the way telling us how many more steps (from the train station) until we reached the concert gates -



We had an awesome chilled out afternoon listening to Ben Howard, Edward Sharpe, Bears Den, HAIM in the sunshine -

THEN. Mumford and Sons came on - 

We raised up our drinks and went crazy!

"Woooohooooo!!! We love you Mumford!! etc etc!!! wooohooooo!!!"

    

Yep. That's right. I got doused in sticky vodka lemonade. All over my head.

Side Note: Definitely invest in a husband the next time you go to a festival or concert - they have very handy shoulders for when you need to get a better view. Also, if you let them "accidentally" spill their drink all over you, then you will have extra shoulder time as retribution.

London Summer for the Win. 

Tomorrow. (TOMORRROW!!!!!)

You guys! THREE months. THREE. That's like a quarter of the year. And you know what they say? They say if you can survive a quarter of anything - you can survive it all.
No. They don't really say that, but whatever - we're gonna be juuuuust fine.

So tomorrow we celebrate our THREE MONTHS MARRIED -

"Oh Mr Mumford! What I said was - 

sigh.

Mr Mumford: I know JUST the thing! I know you and the husband had a bunch of our songs included in your wedding music-mix so... how about as a little 3 month anniversary gift, me and the boys will pop over to come and give you and The Warr your very own private music concert! Just. For. YOU!

indieBerries: That would be a fantastic way to spend our three month anniversary!! Our very own private Mumford and Sons Concert - JUST. FOR. US!! I'm getting all emotional and teary just THINKING about it!!! YAY!!!! But.... won't everyone else be jealous?

Mr Mumford: Hmmm....Yeah. You're right. Hmmm... Ok. Fine. sigh. It looks like we're going to have to invite London out of courtesy. I really don't want to, but we might have to in order to avoid everyone getting all jealous and up in your face. But, Ché, just know that it will all be for YOU and THE WARR and your THREE MONTH ANNIVERSARY. London will think we are coming for them. We aren't. We are coming only for YOU and THE WARR. Shame, poor London. hahahaha. ha. ha.



 

Mr Mumford: We have to make them believe we are coming for them.

So, Tomorrow - as a very special anniversary gift - Mumford and Sons will be serenading us in the Park. They have also invited their good friend Ben Howard to come and sing to us too. Then, when The Vampire Weekend and Bears Den heard about all the fuss they were making for our anniversary - they wanted to get in on the action too. I know. It's like... too much. However are they going to top this for our one year gift?

So, if by chance you are attending our concert tomorrow at The Queen Elizabeth Park, you will hear Mumford singing some songs which you may think are "just for you!!"
