A few wedding trends that you've probably seen wafting around the internet
(trust me, I've seen them all - but if you think there may be a wedding related blog that i have NOT seen, please do leave a comment. ta.)

fabric bunting that gives just about any space a really whimsical, fantastical feel. Southbound Bride (formerly Cap Classique) shares this wedding post that has the most gorgeous bunting strung between trees and a little garland made of flowers.

These paper heart garlands made from old book pages are so beautiful and don't you think it would be a nice "couple-project" for the weeks (and months) leading up to your wedding? I do.
Mason jars - which are awesome for sipping cocktails with fancy paper straws, serving as place-card holders, pretty candle-holders or to be filled with something delicious and dished out as wedding favours. You can see how "The Royalls" have used them on The Pretty Blog. Also these straws, they are so lovable.

Vintage books to be used as part of your table decor as in the Wedding Workshop on The Little Pink Book. I have also seen a few brides opt to give out second hand books as wedding favours - super fun if you have a bunch of literary fans at your wedding.

Wrap-it up.

It was my mom's birthday right before I left South Africa - and we all know how much I love a good-wrapping. So I wrapped up her birthday gifts in brown paper with different pink accents. Feathers, Washi Tape, ribbons, string and newspaper flowers which I made here. Simple and pretty. Done.

Airline Karma.

Usually when i travel I get stuck next to real genuine creeps. However when I flew to London on Tuesday Evening from South Africa, I couldn't believe my luck when there was no-one sitting next to me. (You know that feeling when you start getting nervous that some late-passenger is going to just swoop in, in some kind of whirlwind and ruin your free-seat vibe. And you start a silent chant to the air-hostesses CLOSE THE DOOR. CLOSE THE DOOR. CLOSE THE DOOR. Well my chanting worked and I had a whole two seats up against the window all to myself all the way to Dubai. Score

Then when I boarded the flight from Dubai, and there were THREE seats all to myself, I couldn't possibly believe that it was going to happen again. So I waited very patiently for the seat-thieves but they never came and I had three whole seats all to myself. I was basically flying in a bed. With three pillows and three blankets. Not that I was super cold, but you know, just because I could.

When I landed (feeling very refreshed and well rested) and opened my suitcase at Warr's house... I discovered that my (very expensive) shampoo had leaked over all my clothes. (and ruined half the paper that I decided to bring)

 

so we (warren) shoved the shampoo clothes into the washing machine

 

quite similar to this experience, although - entirely our fault.

Don't kid yourself, croco-skin was very last season.

I've been using the products for about a week now and so far one of my favourites is definitely the Body Buff - It's got a delicious lemony-citrus smell and pumice grains for exfoliation. The first time I used it, I was genuinely very surprised and impressed at how smooth and soft my skin felt afterwards. Also the bonus of this product is that you use it twice in the first week and once a week there-after so it should last a while. Score. Almost all the products contain rich oils like Almond oil, Shea butter and Avocado oil - which not only help to "lock in moisture and throw away the key" but also smell delish too.

London - the arrival.

Following on from my How To series - I would like to sub-title this post - How to tell you've made a good life choice.... Also, ladies, if you were hoping to find the greatest boyfriend of all time, I'm sorry, but he's with me. lol -

Landed in London midday Wednesday and was greeted by a (my) very handsome man carrying an airline survival pack - deo, gum, face-wipes, coca-cola and some wasabi peas and a cereal bar... you know.. all the essentials after a long flight and a few non-airline things to munch on.

Also in the welcome pack were my very own set of house-keys with the coolest prints you've ever seen

After a little train ride to Earlsfield, I could use my new fancy keys to open Warra's house where he had a few more surprises waiting for me -  
UK sim card - because he thinks of everything this guy of mine.
The most amazing book of 1000 artist journal pages - I haven't had a real chance to sit and page through it properly - but it is so gorgeous that I have secretly been dreaming of it at night. 

A few of the pages from the 1000 Artist Journals book - hopefully will get some time to drool over it this weekend. (I'm quite excited at the prospect of this.)
Warr has also stocked up on some amazing UK bridal magazines - I have been very controlled in not ripping into them so that I can save them for us to look through together. (... maybe).

Let me also say that Warren has converted his former bachelor-man-cave into a part-man, part-lady room with a brand new cupboard for me (that he built himself) and a brand new desk for my computer (which he also built himself). According to the housemates, the room transformation has been a work in progress. I call it a labour of love. lol. Also..........
Big fat screen for me to use for blogging/designing/computer-ing in general!! YAY!!!
Did I mention the beautiful roses and yummy Crabtree and Evelyn hand-lotion?

London summer, bright sunshine at 8pm, an amazing fiance who has spoilt me rotten, and a four day weekend with him to celebrate the Queens jubilee.

Oh yes! and last night Warr surprised me with tickets to see Coldplay tonight.
